I’m pleased to see that the New York Times is again featuring the kind of thoughtful media analysis that was so brilliantly written by the late David Carr ( he called his column The Media Equation) and has been so sorely missed. His replacement- writing the Mediator column- is Jim Rutenberg. His first column is a timely assessment of how Donald Trump and television is a reality television marriage made in heaven. Rutenberg zooms in on CNN and its bonanza of ratings and revenue because of its slavish Trump coverage.  I’ve noticed that its own media analyst, Brian Stelter on its excellent Reliable Sources show/podcast seldom notes how his own channel is so grubby and greedy in its treatment of Trump. Here’s a link to Rutenberg’s first impressive column. http://goo.gl/80b3KK
